How do we make sure that when the weather heats up business doesn’t cool down? While some businesses are naturals to do better as the weather gets hotter, for others, it’s just the opposite. Are you sitting in the office worried about how well you’ll do during the upcoming season? Many businesses face challenges when the weather changes – and it always does.

It’s mid-summer and that means that people have likely been attending more events that are outdoors. People take more vacations, work shorter hours and are generally feel a little more laid back these days. Which means you may be spending even more time outside promoting your business at various events. Whether that event is a sporting event, a concert, Farmer’s Market or even a community event you want to make sure you have all the right gear. What exactly is the right gear? A tent or canopy, of course!
Having a tent not only ensures you some visibility, it also offers something that is known as the decompression zone which is the area of transition between the outside environment and the smaller, indoor place into which your customer is entering. However, tents have had a place in society for thousands of years, even stretching back to biblical times. The Ancient Hebrews, including Abraham, Isaac, and Moses lived a nomadic lifestyle. This meant that they were constantly moving from place to place and while doing so, they lived in tents. The sacred place where the Ark of the Covenant was kept in was called a tabernacle, which translates to “tent” or “place of dwelling.”
If we fast forward a few thousand years, we can see that tents were still in use, this time in a medieval setting. Knights would take them on hunts and use them as command bases during times of war. Tents were also set up during tournaments so the knights had a place to prepare for competitions. You can imagine that the art of promotional tents was in full swing as tournament vendors vied for attention from the crowds in order to sell their food, mead, and other wares.

Large promotional products have always competed for mind-share and the attention of those travelling by them. Whether being an inflatable on top of an auto dealer’s roof, or a promotional tent at an outdoor event – bold, quality promotional products compete for the attention of prospective customers passing by.
In today’s age of people continually looking downward at their smartphone, the task has become even more challenging. Where people used to at least look up and around while walking, you more often than not see them stooped in what is becoming the classic posture of a smartphone walker busy getting the latest Internet updates or texting “critical” information to their friends.
